The Wellsboro Summer Swim Team is a Community program sponsored by Wellsboro Parks & Recreation for youth ages 5-18. Our mission is to keep our community youth active by offering some healthy summer fun and competition! Each year up to 150 youth join the team and have fun with their friends while improving their swimming skills. Swimmers of all levels are welcome with only 1 condition: swimmer must be able to swim one length of the pool (25 yards) without stopping, touching pool bottom, hanging on lane line or side wall. Swimmers of all ages will improve their skills, technique, and speed in each of the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. And, importantly, they'll have fun while doing so! Just have your prospective swimmer ask their Wellsboro Swim friends about our team!! For those who are still unsure: Just give it a try! If you are a first year swimmer, give the program 5 practices. If your swimmer is happy - fantastic! If you feel it's not the right time or sport for you or your child, we will refund your registration fee, minus any individual items you have ordered (e.g., swim suit, goggles, processing fees etc.).
